Celebrating the 82nd anniversary of the birth of John Lennon-and better yet, the album’s 53rd anniversary--Keith Putney Productions presents The Beatles’ "Abbey Road" live and complete at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles at 7 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
Abbey Road was the final Beatles album to be recorded, and its iconic status is unchallenged. It has sold well over 13 million copies in the United States alone, and 31 million worldwide. It spent 11 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart in an album chart run of 129 weeks.
From the rollicking rock of “Come Together” to the unforgettable harmonies of “Because”, from the heartfelt balladry of “Something” to the lust and longing of “I Want You”, Abbey Road entered like the spring morning in “Here Comes the Sun” and stayed with us to become part of our collective memory. It lives again on stage on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
Given that Abbey Road was the last album to be recorded by the Beatles, it was also the musical work led into the solo careers of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. To complete our program we'll celebrate the Beatles individual efforts in 1970 and 1971 with an albums' worth of the their gems from that impressive era: "Instant Karma", "Maybe I'm Amazed" "It Don't Come Easy", "Beware of Darkness" "Every Night", "Imagine" "My Sweet Lord" and more! The musical flame that brought light to the world in the form of the Beatles continued to shine in the early 1970's and we'll explore that light --and salute John Lennon's Birthday--in our show October 9th.
